Houson R. Lafrance represents two kinds of clients: people accused of crimes, and people injured by someone else's negligence. He was born and raised in Miami, he tries cases across South Florida, and he teaches the next generation of trial lawyers how to do the same.
Born and raised in Miami, Florida, in a Haitian family, Houson's connection to South Florida is personal. He understands the communities he serves, the pressure people feel when they are facing a serious legal problem, and how overwhelming the legal system can be when your future is on the line.
Houson does not treat clients like case numbers. He takes time to understand the client's situation, explain the process clearly, and prepare the case with the seriousness it deserves. Whether defending a client against criminal charges or pursuing compensation for an injured person, his approach is the same: build a plan, master the facts, and prepare for the moments that matter.
Clients hire Houson because he is direct, strategic, and trial-ready. He is known for his courtroom presence, careful preparation, and ability to explain complex facts in a clear and persuasive way. His work as an advocate has earned recognition from organizations including Super Lawyers Rising Stars, The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40, and the National Academy of Criminal Defense Attorneys Top 10 Under 40.
Houson graduated with honors from St. Thomas University College of Law in 2014. During law school, he was a member of all three major honors organizations: Law Review, Moot Court, and Trial Team. That foundation shaped the way he practices today: careful with the law, precise with the facts, and prepared for the courtroom.
In addition to representing clients, Houson serves as a Professor of Trial Advocacy and Faculty Advisor to the St. Thomas University College of Law Trial Team, a nationally ranked program. During his time as Faculty Advisor, the program has earned a top-five national ranking, won multiple state and national championships, and received invitations to some of the most prestigious trial advocacy competitions in the country.
That work matters because Houson does not just practice trial advocacy. He teaches it, studies it, and develops it in others. His clients benefit from a lawyer who understands how cases are built, how witnesses are prepared, how arguments are shaped, and how pressure changes everything.
For Houson, legal representation is not about volume. It is about responsibility. Clients come to Lafrance Golondrino Law when the case matters, the consequences are serious, and they want a lawyer who will prepare with purpose.
Two tracks: recovering money for injured people, and defending people charged with crimes.
